Kelsey moved back to Waco in 2024, and not long after, she crossed paths with one of Tyler’s family friends who had a feeling the two of them needed to meet, and set them up.

Numbers were exchanged, and Tyler reached out to ask Kelsey on a date. When the date ended, Kelsey and Tyler walked away with the same feeling: something special had just begun. They both said it was the best date they had ever been on. The kind that changes everything; the kind where you finally meet your soulmate.

They spent the next eight months dating around Waco before beginning a new adventure together across the country. Tyler started working as a travel ICU nurse, and since Kelsey works remotely, they packed up and drove 16 hours to their first home in South Carolina. Over the next year and a half, they lived in South Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Arizona.

Life on the road brought unforgettable experiences: exploring Charleston and relaxing at Folly Beach, visiting Zion National Park, and hiking the tallest mountain in Tennessee. But their favorite adventure of all was a trip to San Diego, California. Tyler had been planning his proposal for months, wanting it to be perfect. Knowing Kelsey’s love for the ocean, he brought her to Sunset Cliffs on June 8, 2026, and proposed at sunset. And of course, she said “YES!”
